“From the moment you turn down the winding, wooded driveway, this Bar Harbor hotel will capture your imagination. Nestled onto Bar Harbor’s renowned shoreline, the newly designed and artfully renovated boutique property is surrounded by Acadia National Park and all the charms this extraordinary area has to offer.”
“Bar Harbor has the main tranche of holiday accommodation. The four-star Bayview Hotel, just to the north of the core of the town, is one of the higher-rated possibilities for a night’s slumber, with spacious rooms overlooking the waves of Mount Desert Narrows.”
“The team from Bar Harbor’s Swan Hospitality Group more or less hasn’t stopped renovating since taking over the Bayview Hotel for its 2019 season. New furniture and fixtures, new tile bathrooms, splashy new linens and floor coverings, bright new walls and botanical-print wallpapers, even a new roof.”
“Further up Maine’s coast is the pretty town of Bar Harbor. If you want to spend your getaway hiking in the woods but also love the ocean, this is a great destination, given its proximity to Acadia National Park. There are tons of nearby trails, but you can also enjoy all the surrounding beauty without hiking to a peak.”
“The newly redesigned Bayview Hotel has just 26 rooms—each with a private oceanfront balcony—ensuring a secluded getaway for you and your new spouse.”
“What happens when you want trendy, modern luxury-style accommodations but are also an outdoor enthusiast who’s keen to explore the great outdoors? It might seem like there isn’t a place that could possibly satisfy both seemingly disparate desires. But that just means you haven’t yet heard about The Bayview Hotel, a 26-key gem that’s dripping with contemporary flair and literally steps from Acadia National Park.”
TLC television show, My Big Fat Fabulous Life, filmed two episodes of Season 9 during their trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. You’ll see fun looks of Bar Harbor and hiking in Acadia, and of course, Whitney and her friends staying at The Bayview Hotel. “The Bayview Hotel was completely redesigned in 2021. With its new rustic-chic decor and awesome amenities, this is definitely the coolest boutique hotel near Acadia National Park! Located just 1.5 miles up the coast from central Bar Harbor, Bayview Hotel is perched right on the shores of Frenchman Bay. Unlike most hotels in the area, each of the 26 rooms faces the water and has private balconies with sweeping ocean and island views.”

The Bayview Hotel was built on the foundation of the historic summer cottage, Bournemouth. This newly designed and artfully renovated boutique property is surrounded by Acadia National Park and all the charms this extraordinary area has to offer. The hotel’s Modern Rusticator sensibility – an homage to 19th Century rusticators who worked tirelessly to create Acadia National Park – is woven into the design choices throughout, inviting the unique appeal of Maine’s natural beauty inside.
Each of the hotel’s 26 guest rooms are newly renovated and have a balcony or deck with commanding ocean views. They span over three levels and feature modern designer touches.
The Rusticator Lounge features original art by world-renowned Maine artists. The Bayview Hotel’s intimate lounge offers an atmosphere of relaxed sophistication with warm and attentive service and breathtaking ocean views. The menu offers imaginative vegetarian dishes, including the signature Rusticator Barcuterie – a presentation of locally sourced cheeses and vegetarian bites. Pairs perfectly with your favorite wine or cocktail from the full bar.
The Bayview Hotel is ideally located between the Acadia National Park Visitor Center and downtown Bar Harbor. Area activities include hiking, biking, kayaking, mountaineering, wildlife safaris, and much more.
